By Yusuf Muhammed

A30-year-old car washer, Oluwafemi Adeniran, has been arrested for impersonating a  policeman.

Adeniran, who specialises in defrauding unsuspecting motorcyclists (okada rider) at Alausa Taskforce Office on the pretext that he is a police officer attached to the outfit and could assist them release their motorcycles, was arrested by an eagle-eared police officer who overheard his conversation with an okada rider arrested earlier.

P.M.NEWS gathered that Adeniran had allegedly collected sums of money from some okada riders within the taskforce vicinity before luck ran out on him, while negotiating with another rider.

He was subsequently arrested and during interrogation, he was said to have confessed to the crime.

Speaking with P.M.NEWS, the chairman of the taskforce, Supol Bayo Sulaiman, warned members of the public to desist from patronising touts at the taskforce office. He advised that arrested riders should come forward and follow the necessary steps to get their motorcycles released.

While advising members of the public to always report suspicious people, he promised a hard time for those who indulge in illegal activities within and around the taskforce office.

SONNY, LITTLE MINDS DISCUSS PEOPLE BUT GREAT MINDS DISCUSS ISSUES.

THE MAN MIGHT HAVE COMMITTED THE OFFENCE WEARING POLICE UNIFORM OR IN MUFTI. IF HE WAS IN POLICE UNIFORM, HOW DID HE GET ACCESS TO IT? IF HE WAS IN MUFTI, IT IS A KNOWN FACT THAT AT TIMES POLICEMEN IN MUFTI CARRY GUNS. THIS IS SO BAD THAT IF YOU SEE POLICEMEN IN MUFTI WITH GUNS AT CHECKPOINTS, YOU’LL BE PRAYING THAT THEY TURN OUT TO BE ARMED ROBBERS. I HAVE SAID EARLIER, IN NIGERIA, A UNIFROM IS A UNIFROM OF OPPRESSION, OUR UNIFORMED MEN ARE ALL ARMY OF OCCUPATION. WE HAVE TO BOW DOWN TO THEIR WHIM AND CAPRICES. SUPOL BAYO SULAIMAN, PLEASE NOTE THAT THE TOUTS AT THE TASKFORCE OFFICE WORK HAND IN HAND WITH THE POLICE TO THE EXTENT THAT SOME OF THEM ARE POLICEMEN OFF DUTY. AS AN OFFICER WHO IS CHARGED WITH MAINTAINING LAW AND ORDER, WHY SHOULD YOU ALLOW TOUTS TO ROAM CARELESSLY AROUN YOUR PREMISES? FOOD FOR THOUGHT.

Okey, like Adeyemi said, “LITTLE MINDS DISCUSS PEOPLE BUT GREAT MINDS DISCUSS ISSUES”. Address the issue and not the tribe or persons involved. It is of a fact that he has co-horts within the task force, luck just haapen to run out on him.
