Agidingbi Roads In Disrepair

December 04, 2009 20:23, 35 views

The deplorable condition of Otunba Jobi-Fele Way, Central Business District (CBD) and Akeem Balogun Street, off Agidingbi road, is giving motorists and other road users a serious concern as the roads have been long neglected.

Information gathered by Lagos Bulletin revealed that the bad portion on the roads had been like that for over eight months without any effort to rehabilitate them.

Some of the motorists who spoke with Lagos Bulletin expressed disappointment over the abandonment of the roads despite, more so that they lead to the state secretariat which is the seat of power in the state.

The motorists and other road users therefore call on the state government to rehabilitate the roads, especially now that we are in the dry season.

Mr. Bode Olayinka, in a chat with Lagos Bulletin, said “these roads are very close to the Governor’s Office and since charity, they say, begins at home, the state government ought to ensure that all roads within this area are good, but that is not the case here.

“The roads have been in this condition for quite some time now and nobody is paying any attention to them now that the rain is over.

“I am appealing to the state government to fix the roads and if it is the work of the local government or any agency, they should be alert to their responsibility and repair the roads.”

Another motorist, who identified himself as Kunle Adewale, stated that he was surprised that the roads could be left unattended to for a  long period and as such, called on the state government and the Ministry of Works to rehabilitate the road before another rainy season comes.

When Lagos Bulletin visited Hakeem Balogun Street, there was heavy traffic in the area due to the bad condition of the road.
