Bayelsa Queens of Yenagoa will this evening at the training pitch of the National Stadium, Abuja, face Delta Queens in the season–ending final of 2009 Women’s Challenge Cup competition.

Chairman of DAAR Communications, owners of Africa Independent Television (AIT) and Raypower radio, Dr. Raymond Dokpesi, is expected to be special guest of honour at the colourful event that will see the third place match start this afternoon, before the big game between the Queens.

In Wednesday’s semi final, Delta Queens beat Rivers Angels 2-1 in an entertaining semi-final clash at the same venue before home girls FCT Queens fell to Bayelsa Queens by the same margin.

The third place match between FCT Queens and Rivers Angels, as well as the final between the South-South amazons, will be broadcast live on Africa Independent Television.

The champions will earn N200,000, while the runners-up will go home with N150,000. Both semi-final losers, who contest the bronze match, will get N100,000 each.
