As startling revelations continue to emerge in the face-off between the group of 15 lawmakers in the Ogun State House of Assembly and Governor Gbenga Daniel, a prominent traditional ruler in the state has been fingered as the one who coordinated the oath taking for PDP members seeking political appointment in Daniel’s administration.
The monarch was said to have personally met with the would-be appointees and instructed them to take an oath of loyalty to Daniel.
Addressing journalists this morning, the Group of 15 lawmakers, led by the Speaker , Honourable Tunji Egbetokun, described Daniel as a ritualist and a sodomist who will stop at nothing to destroy his perceived political enemies. He challenged him to publish other nude photographs of the lawmakers he promised to publish.
Commenting on the photographs of the lawmaker published yesterday in the Nigerian Compass newspaper published by Governor Daniel, Egbetokun described it as wickedness and an attempt to blackmail the lawmakers to do his bidding.
He said he once took an oath with Daniel and told him so in the palace of a prominent Oba in Ijebuland.
According to him, Daniel denied it but that he reminded him of the event. He said he was not naked while taking the oath.
He warned Daniel not to publish any fake photograph of him or manipulate the computers to show him taking oath, stressing that he would resist it.
In his own disclosure, the man at the centre of the oath taking scandal, Wale Alausa said: “One thing I thank God for in all of these is the confidence of my colleagues which I betrayed has been restored by God himself because I do not want to be labelled an Omo Ale (bastard). Because, how can one explain Otunba Gbenga Daniel’s release of a photograph he took deceitfully? I know he has been angry because he expected I’ll return to the G-15 and begin passing details of our meeting to him. But I refused. The oath I took was to the effect that I will not be among those who will impeach him from office. It did not include spying on my colleagues. Part of the argument was that as an Ijebu, I should not allow the Egba to disgrace our son, Otunba Daniel. I agreed after that pressure from my dad, but it was a reluctant decision which I made as a dutiful Yoruba son to a father who has been everything to me.”
The controversial oath-taking was attested to by the Deputy Speaker of the House, Mr. Remi Hazzan, who confirmed that Daniel asked him to see the prominent traditional ruler three times but he refused, adding that they would have used that to capture him.
“They knew that some of us are children of God. I was not invited for such an oath, though the governor asked if I had seen the prominent Oba three times. He asked me three times if I had seen the Oba but he never said why the Oba was looking for me. I guess that was what they wanted me to take to capture me, but God scuttled the move,” the legislator representing Ijebu-Ode Constituency stated.
Gov. Daniel’s newspaper, Nigerian Compass, yesterday published naked pictures of one of the lawmakers, Mr. Wale Alausa, on its front page taking an oath at a shrine in Ijebu-Igbo, to be loyal to the group of 15 lawmakers who are opposed to Daniel’s style of administering the state.
But responding to the allegations yesterday in P.M.News, Alausa admitted that the photographs published was his own but disagreed with the report in the newspaper.
He said he was forced to take the oath of allegiance by Governor Daniel in 2007 and that he took the oath in a toilet in one of Daniel’s mansions in Ijebu-Ode.
Alausa revealed that he was harassed, intimidated and forced to take the oath. “They put pressure on me through my father,” he added.
A reliable source at the Ogun State’s Information Ministry at Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, also informed P.M.News that Governor Daniel will also address the press tomorrow, 1 July, to state categorically his position on the matter.

30 June 2009 14:58It is really hard to seeve out the truth from what you read on PM News especially when its about the PDP. Strange as the recent developments on Ogun State are, the truth are hard to know from the Tinubu’s Propaganda Machine (t-PM News). One thing however is Governor’s should be banned from owning media houses, Compass or Nation, Adaba or Eyele.
The people are just loosing on all fronts!

30 June 2009 15:03Hon. Wale Alausa is disgrace, period! he was simply desperate for power, money and what have you. His ambitions blinded him to the realities of the trap he was walking into, not Gbenga Daniel, not pressures from his father but his own greed. “if you have integrity, nothing else matters, and if lack integrity nothing else matters” all these talk about being pressurised is nothing but balderdash! As for Gov. Gbenga Daniel, he is like the Biblical King Saul, who started with God and ended up consulting demons, he should know how Saul ended. Belonging to several occultic societies does not guarantee peace, power(for it is transient) or longer life, holding people hostage under demonic oath-taking rituals for selfish ends will ultimately result in a cul-de-sac for all partakers. They are all pawns in the hands of the devil, It is only a matter of time, when satan is done with them he throws them away.
It is a pity that Ogun State, home to many christian organisations, and prominent men of God is in the grip of agents of darkness, the state surely needs deliverance!

30 June 2009 15:41Why would a legislator take an oath of allegiance in the first place?
Why would a governor seek oath from a legislature that is charged with oversight functions?
The whole shenaningan called governance in Nigeria is now being exposed, thanks to the
infighting within the political parties and the ruling elite.
In any case, I know it’s still business as usual, otherwise both the lawmakers, the commissioners and the
governor and his deputy have no business remaining a second longer in government house relishing with
tax-payers’ and Niger Delta-sourced oil money to the detriment of the people.
Now OGD’s motive for setting up Compass is also obvious.
Who says Nigeria is getting there? Not with these wolves in sheep’s clothing.

30 June 2009 15:43well, my take on the unfolding issues is that the lawmaker has not explained anything, all he is doing babling and beging the question. it shows the extent in which our so called politicians will go to get power or elected.furthermore, it is a shame on the governor and the collective house of assembly if any of these allegations made by both parties are true. both the governor and the legislator should resign but again this is nigeria, people dont resign. may god help us.

Why would a governor seek oath from a legislature that is charged with oversight functions?
The whole shenanigans called governance in Nigeria are now being exposed, thanks to the

Now, OGD’s motive for setting up Compass is also obvious. He couldn’t have used PUNCH, Guardian, Thisday (maybe) and The Nation for the new form of journalism that the ‘OGD breed of journalists’ at the compass are practising for today’s sake. Tomorrow? I know the children of Gabriel the editor and those of other editorial staff, including the Editor-in-Chief, will ask questions. If they don’t, our own children will ask their children questions.

The difference between the evil-mindedness between Daniel and his cohorts in one part and the legislators on the other part is like the difference between six and half a dozen. One thing that is sure is that all of them will end up in the pitch of destruction, unless their hands are clean.

30 June 2009 21:57This devil incarnate called Daniel deserves impeachment. He must have gotten that photograph to the un-awareness of the victim and other Honourables when they were taking the oath he forced them to take that they would continue to support him.If this this could happen to Honourable Alausa then it could happen to any of the honorables, especially those who took the oath.
If indeed that photograph was taken when anti-Daniel group were taking an oath, it wouldn’t have gotten to the “laughing gas” governor nor his useless newspaper company. The implictaion of this act is that the fraudulent governor has the photographs of other members who took the oath; and they should expect similar gesture soon. I do not see any reason why he ask them to take an oath if he was actually the peoples governor he called himself. Why if he does not have any skeleton in his cupboard? If he is popular, why?
The house should come together and save their colleague this disgrace. They should reason together irrespective of their differences and investigate the source of this non-sense and subsequently impeached the ‘laughing gas.’

1 July 2009 08:37We all have to admit that truth is truth and will remain true. “whatever is thrown up must come down”, i think that is true no matter where you are in the universe. it will always be true that light will come no matter how long darkness stays. We shall all know the truth someday. But Gbenga Daniel has such tendencies to administer oath. At least, he has a conscience, let someone who is very close to him ask him; Gbenga Daniel, are you a legitimate governor of Ogun State? I am not lost, i said Gbenga Daniel has the tendency because, even if we dnt have any newspaper to speak for us, even if our voice is silent…we witnessed it; the dogs of gbenga daniel unleashed terror on citizens during the elections..with guns they took ballot papers away. So he has such tendencies

1 July 2009 08:57Do people think of eternity? People need to fear God. We should be reminded this
1 Timothy Chapter 6:6 - 11 says.
6:6 Now godliness combined with contentment brings great profit.
6:7 For we have brought nothing into this world and so we cannot take a single thing out either.
6:8 But if we have food and shelter, we will be satisfied with that.
6:9 Those who long to be rich, however, stumble into temptation and a trap and many senseless and harmful desires that plunge people into ruin and destruction.
6:10 For the love of money is the root of all evils. Some people in reaching for it have strayed from the faith and stabbed themselves with many pains.
6:11 But you, as a person dedicated to God, keep away from all that. Instead pursue righteousness, godliness, faithfulness, love, endurance, and gentleness.

1 July 2009 10:14No lawmaker should swear oath of loyalty to any sitting governor. They are all supposed to be loyal to the voters and their constituencies they represent in the house. This oath taking eroded the norm of democracy. By taking this oath of loyalty, they have sold out the people they are representing and Gbanga Daniel is license to do whatever he likes as governor.

1 July 2009 10:26Sorry Hon. Wale Alausa, I sympathize with you! Your story is incredible though I do not doubt that Daniel is treacherous. Daniel could even do worst things than what he has done to you. But believe me you are the most stupid person I have known. Show me Daniel’s nude picture I will eat my words! He made you to pose nude when he took your picture! Is it a matter of life and death? See what greed has done to you! All because you wanted to ’serve’ your purse (or did you say your people?), you pose naked taking an oath. Do you also have your dad’s nude picture when he was taking his own oath? I will be glad to pay $5.5million to have his nude picture and for the Awujale’s a whopping sum of $30.5million.
Now Gbenga Daniel has scored this goal against you, I am waiting to see how you will win this game. I am annoyed the more when you started your release with “Authubi Llahi mina shaetaani rojeem”. You were dinning with a devil like Daniel when you don’t have a long spoon. Daniel is that shaetaani you refuse to run away from when pleading God to deliver you from him. 1 July 2009 10:32This Way, No Way
There is what I call “This Way, No Way” to mean that if this is how our supposed rulers are operating Nigeria should forget about greatness till Jesus comes. If in Ogun State that has one of the first church buildings in Nigeria such a thing can be happening then surely worst things are happening in all other parts of the country among those ruling. God cannot bless such a nation no matter the multitude of their prayers.
These rulers should give God reason to answer the prayers of all those pleading with Him to help the country grow greater. Actually God has given all that is necessary for the territory called Nigeria and her people to be great but these rulers would not let it manifest. If any ruler had the intention to rule well he need not ask people to take any oath. It is because such a person knows that he does not intend to work for the good of the people. That is the point at which all those that took oath should have resisted. Nigerian rulers should leave the country and citizens alone for once. Nigerian rulers readily forget that nothing lasts for ever. Even if anyone rule for the so called two terms totalling eight years it would still come to an end. Even if you install your son or daughter or wife there is no assurance that they would remain loyal to you always. So why do things you cannot speak about proudly outside?
It is painful that Ogun State that has the highest number of higher institutions and prominent personalities has degenerated to this level. May the good Lord help us all.

Daniel in his own case is known as devilish man. His money laudering saga has not become stale before the ritual saga comes out. The Oba was known to be an Aroni or Egbeji. It does not pain me for him because their kingship is ritual driven and founded on satanic foundation. The lawmakers are gullible thieves and greedy opportunists. However what is strange and unfanthomable is nakedness and photography that is now being introduced, haba! it is nothing but the height of barbarism; I think both parties should be ashamed of themselves.

1 July 2009 14:32it is obvious that this charlantants so called politician nay our Governors and Lawmakers are devil. Anybody who wants to join politics in Nigeria must be ready to dine and wine with the devil. All of them are the same, i pity Hon Wale but i also know that his Father is like an Adedibu in Ijebu Ode. so Hon? never mind, the evil men do not only leave after them but follow them and also follow their sons and daughters .

1 July 2009 15:39Please, let Hon. Wale Alausa tell us if he was aware of the fact that his picture was being taking while the oath was being administer on him nakedly. Anyway whether he is aware or not, my own candid advice for him is that he should resign as that is the only way by which he can salvage the integrity of his family (wife and children), since he has lost his own totally (or what can we say of a lawmaker whose admitted to a nude picture published in the dailies as his).
Now to governor gbenga Daniel who has interest in the Compass newspaper that published the picture. What is your benefit sir. What is the plesure you derived in publishing the nude picture of a hounorable meember of the assembly that you govern. Yoruba will say, ti a ba nja, bi ti oe ka ku ko meaning if we are fighting, it shouldn’t be to the extent of death, (but your is not like that). Yoruba goes further to say that Oju ti ore mi oju koti mi, oluwa re ni ko ni ojuti, meaning, My friend was disgrace and I was not, it is that person that doesn’t have shame. All the vitures you teache the upcoming are flukes. How do you expect the school children who are seeing somebody like hon. Alausa as a role model which he is suppose to be react when they see his nude picture. I even suggest that theregulatory authority should sanction the compass newspaper for publishing such a obscene picture.

1 July 2009 15:48This act is a disgrace, it is too primitive in 2009. This is why some ‘Godly’ people would not delve into Nigerian politics as most nigerian politicians dine and wine with devil before they get to political offices. this is also one of the reasons why they are heartless, greedy and selfish as they have mortgaged their conscience and life to satan. This also shows the kind of politics we are playing in Nigeria in the 21st century when other countries of the world are advancing in all spheres of life. However, these set of politicians is reminded of the saying in the Book of Eclesiastes: VANITY ON VANITY, ALL IS VANITY, they are encouraged to confess, repent, and seek restitution from God as their funding of Churches/Mosques would not prevent them from facing the judgement on ressurection day. I pray God will deliver Nigeria and Nigerians from them.

1 July 2009 22:52Gbenga Daniel and The Bastardisation of Ogun state.
The bubbles has burst and the Latest Revelation is the absolute degradation and Bestiality of The Governor of Ogun State Gbenga Daniel. The Man is Vindictive, evil, dangerous, egoistic, self efficious, self serving and an autocrat who would stop at nothing to control. When Things don’t go His way, He would go to any length to pull the person down.
How long was the pictures at His disposition and why is He just releasing such picture without having a sinister motive and He felt He was a Drowning Governor about to self-destruct and was ready to drag as many as He could along.
He was so Vindictive and stupid to have used his media outlet ‘ THE COMPASS’ to bid His dirty job thinking He could Hoodwink Nigerians into believing Him……. The obvious is certain, there is no smoke without Fire. He not only brought His Government into disrepute by disgracing His own lawmaker, He also Destroyed any reputation He had, if any? Its very obvious to the world that they are bunch of blood sucking occultic dregs who have hijacked power to the detriment of the state, and only an immediate IMPEACHMENT OR RESIGNATION could sanitise the bastardisation of the state by Him and His Co-travellers. Enough is Enough.
