Turkish Airlines Adds Dakar To African Routes

Turkish Airlines has added Dakar, Senegal to its African routes, making it the second destination in West Africa as it continues to expand operations in the continent.
The Managing Director of the airline in Nigeria, Mr. Abdullah Pinar, said “operations to Dakar, Senegal, will commence from March 29, 2009 and operate every Wednesday and Sunday.”
According to him, “the flight will begin from Istanbul, Turkey to Sao Paulo, Brazil via Dakar, Senegal.”
“We are determined to continue to expand our destinations in Africa and we are doing everything possible in that direction,” he added.
He noted that: ”Turkish Airlines’ operation to Lagos, Nigeria since 2006 has been very encouraging and we are ensuring that the comfort of our passengers on the route is taken very serious. “Our key selling point of ‘no transit visa’ as long as the passenger has visa to his destination will continue to be guaranteed,” he added.
Recently, Turkish Airlines purchased a total of 75 aircraft to boost its operations from 2009-2023.
The airline which was established in 1933, with five planes now boasts of being a 4-star company with a fleet of 115 planes, flying to 141 different directions.
Turkish Airlines is a member of Star Alliance which was established in 1997. Star Alliance flies over 975 directions in 162 countries with almost 18,100 flights.
