4-Year-Old To Testify In Rape Case

A four-year-old boy, Dada Aleshinloye, has been slated to testify before the Ejigbo Magistrate’s Court, Lagos, on 15 December, on a rape charge involving two men.
The suspects, Kabiru Oyewole and Aliu Ramoni, were arrested and charged to court for raping a two-year-old baby who strayed into their apartment, at 3, Ajana Close, Ijegun Road, Ikotun. The men were said to have carried out the devilish act when the victim’s mother was washing clothes outside.
P.M.News gathered that the accused were caught after they pushed the toddler outside and she started crying. Her cry, it was learnt, drew the attention of her mother who discovered that blood was dripping from her private part. When the woman asked her what was amiss, the young girl narrated what happened to her. The mother immediately raised an alarm and the accused were arrested and charged to court.
When the matter came up for hearing, the presiding magistrate, Mrs. M.I. Dan-Oni, noted the seriousness of the crime and expressed the court’s willingness to give the matter an accelerated hearing. Among the witnesses listed to testify in the matter is the four-year-old Dada, described as an eyewitness in the dastardly act.

19 November 2008 08:54I think these guys should be punished according to the law becos this is madness. Can they do this to their little kids? Umm…. where are we going in this country? why the News of raping and Sex are on the high Side? It is time we sold out for Christ and pray for the good of this Nation so that every one can enjoy the dividend of the land.

19 November 2008 11:16I don’t know how admissible the testimony of a 4 year old boy would be in a law court, that would help the the prosecution in this case. I doubt If he could withstand the defence counsel’s cross examination without getting confused and contradicticting himself in way that would become an escape route from jail for the accused persons.
I thought that they should have carried out a DNA test to make their case rock solid.
Its high time we review the weight of punishnment that such rapists are given, not only because of the psycological trauma they cause for their victims and their loved ones, but also because of the exposure to HIV and other diseases.
Heavier punshment on conviction would definitely make rape less attractive to these animal called men.

19 November 2008 11:57These men are animals beyond control. Paedophiles exist but this is the height of it. They dont deserve to live at all. The hottest part of hell should be reserved for them.
