The Nigeria Table Tennis Federation has commenced the Petrochemical Classic Championship at the Indoor Sports Hall of the National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos.

The event, which began yesterday, will end on Friday. Over 50 players across the federation are taking part in the tourney. Secretary of the Nigeria Table Tennis Federation, Segun Oguntade, said the objective of the tourney is to organise and groom young players for future international competitions. He noted that the championship will be an avenue for young players to showcase their God-given talents.

According to Oguntade, “I am satisfied with the number of players who are taking part in the tourney. I think there is a bright future for Table Tennis in Nigeria,” he said.
