Bode Mustapha Forms Parallel Exco

October 10, 2008 17:55, 83 views

Despite the re-instatement of Senator Tunde Osholake as the Chairman, PDP Ogun Central Senatorial District by Gov. Gbenga Daniel, the crisis in the Ogun PDP is far from over.

Political Train reliably gathered that after Osholake was reinstated in conformity with the directives of the National Secretariat of the party, Hon. Bode Mustapha, whom Gov. Daniel initially picked to replace him, has formed a parallel Exco.

Governor Daniel, who was widely reported to have walked out on party leaders, including Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, at the party’s South-West caucus meeting in Ibadan, over the issue, was said to have complied with the party’s instruction, following a threat by the disciplinary committee appointed by the party, to deal with erring members.

While Osholake now holds sway as the party’s Ogun Central Senatorial district boss, Bode Mustapha was said to have formed what is now known as Central Caucus, electing its own executive members.

It was learnt that while Engineer Akin Ojesina was elected as Mustapha’s vice-chairman, Shade Balogun was elected as assistant women leader. These positions are already filled by other people in the original party structure of the Ogun Central.

In a chat with newsmen, Chief Bode Mustapha still claimed to be the bonafade chairman of PDP Ogun Central, telling people to disregard the Osholake executive.

Chief Mustapha’s action was said to have angered members of the Egba Elders Consultative Forum, whose efforts had brought about reconciliation.
