An Action Congress (AC) chairmanship aspirant in Mushin-Ajina Local Government Area, Hon. Olatunde Babatunde Adepitan a.k.a. OBA, has promised that the local government area would become the best in Lagos State, as dividends of democracy would be felt in all nooks and crannies of the area if the good people of the area voted him into power in the forthcoming local government election.
Hon. Adepitan, while speaking with P.T. said “I have a mission before returning into politics and my mission is to join the focused people in any area to develop, sustain and standardize my environment in all aspects of life, and I strongly believe that I am the best man for the job because I have lived all my life in Mushin and I know what next for my people”.
The teacher turned politician said his priority was in education, as that is the bedrock of national development, saying “If by the special grace of God, I am voted in as the chairman, my first programme is the rehabilitation of dilapidated structures in many schools, provide writing materials, textbooks and laboratories equipment to all schools, also I would develop the existing Mushin Library for the less privileged students who are academically sound”.
The former Secretary Local Organising Committee (LOC) for AC in the 2007 election in Mushin-Ajina local government area said, he would not relent until he sees his area attaining an enviable status in the state. “Many infrastructural facilities like roads construction, repairing of all existing ones, construction of gutters and street lights will be my priority and I will also liaise with the state government to provide drugs in our general hospital and build health care centres in all the ten wards in the area. Also mobile health care facilities would be provided so as to bring healthcare to their doorsteps”.
Hon. “OBA” as he is fondly called by his admirers, said he believed in the screening committee constituted by the state party executive saying, “The committee is doing a yeoman’s job, I respect all the members and I am telling you, among all the contestants in our area, I am the best candidate from any perspective, that is why the elders, market women and youths believe in me. One thing they like me for is that, I have been with them for long, acquaint with them and know everybody as they too know me. I have taught in many schools in Mushin for over 27 years. That shows that I am a complete grassroots man who knows how to tackle the problems in the area”.
The language Arts graduate from the University of Ibadan who has been sponsoring female football competitions in the area for many years, promised that since sports is a universal language understood by everybody, he would be organising inter-schools and inter-clubs (both male and female) competitions annually, boasting that any discovered talent would be assisted to further his or her professional career abroad.

Also adult education would be given consideration during his tenure.
He stressed further that the traditional rulers would be accorded respect as they are the custodians of our heritage, saying “I will liaise with them to see how we can jointly promote our culture and redeem our lost glory, cultural activities will be organised in both primary and secondary schools in the area, so as to showcase our culture”.
