With the arrest and trial of former Aviation Ministers, Babalola Borisade and Femi Fani-Kayode, over the handling of N19 billion interventionist funds, especially the controversial N6.5 billion bank loan, aviation industry sources are raising eyebrows over why one of the actors in the controversial loan is walking the streets a free man.
Former Minister of Finance, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, who was thought to have originally given the go-ahead for the controversial loan, has denied authorising anyone.
HiSociety has it on good source that the former Managing Director of FAAN, Mohammed Yusuf, is actually the brain behind the controversial loan. It was gathered that it was under him that the process for the loan started and actually by the time he was given the sack, the loan had almost sailed through and that the likes of the embattled Roland Iyayi only dotted the Is and crossed the Ts.
Now, the big question being asked within the aviation industry is, if the loan is today controversial and people have been taken before the law courts, why is the originator of the loan not answering a few questions?
