The lawmaker who moved the motion for the impeachment of the Governor of Adamawa State, Admiral Murtala Nyako, in the state’s House of Assembly, was beaten to a stupor days after the purported settlement of the whole political brouhaha by the national leadership of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
HiSociety gathered that the lawmaker, Mustapha Maigari, was waylaid by thugs purportedly led by an aide to the governor, while on his way to his hometown in his Ganye constituency, shortly after the Abuja settlement.
It was gathered that what has become known as the Maigari Treatment, awaits most of the lawmakers who want to make things difficult for the retired admiral turned politician.
According to those who know in the state, the governor’s supporters are not ready to shift position in spite of the Abuja settlement and they want any lawmaker to dare them by being funny. In other words, the supporters of the governor say they will brook no opposition.
